Sharing a Lantern shape, this magnificent sculpture has been made from a very large and old book. The pages are first hand painted, one by one, then carefully dried. At last, after a long wait it is ready to be hand folded. The result is a real wonder. A round brass base and brass top finishing complete the piece.
Created using an old, obsolete volume, the Folded Book sculpture is made by hand-folding the pages, one by one. Done slowly and without interruption, each gesture is repeated thousands of time as the paper transforms under the fingers. It is an art that requires patience and dedication; a sort of meditation where the rhythm of the gesture synchronizes with the rhythm of the soul until the metamorphosis is complete.
