Description
Rugged and ready, the Gen 1 Bracelet has been through some wear and tear, and is now ready to do it all again, with you. Sharing a watch mechanism crafted from vintage, obsolete Soviet-Union movements, and a parachute cord, each bracelet is tightened with a bead. The central detail of the bracelet, a 1960's Russian mechanism, is embedded with '16 камни' (16 rubies), which originally functioned as bearing points embedded by the watchmaker to reduce friction on moving parts. The watch face also incorporates Geneva Stripes, a polishing denoted by the iridescent lines of finishing running horizontally across the watch. This decorative technique is commonly used for enhancing aesthetics, and to indicate a higher-grade watch.
About the Brand
Reinterpreting the past and integrating it into modern designs, AHW designs incorporate a mix of industrial, modern and traditional techniques to focus on the individual and the story. With an aim to expose an unexpected art form through experimentation, AHW utilizes vintage and antique timepieces, industrial fragments, raw brass and silver to coax the aesthetic from the defunct. This reimagining of the old world redefines the genre and shares it with today’s modern era while incorporating a fresh appreciation of how it all came to be.
