Representing the infinite shape of a circle, this polished, black marble ashtray is made from Marquina stone selected for its intense color and illuminated by the bright white veins which appear as sudden as the striking ray of lightening across a dark sky. Elegant and mysterious, the premium quality of the marble stands out against the plug-ins made with American walnut wood and infused with tin in-lay, and pure mother-of-pearl polka dots ̶ a signature element by Nada Debs.
Crafted from solid black marble; each cigar ashtray has slight variations and differences.
About the Brand
Lebanese designer Nada Debs is known for her characteristic style which combines Middle Eastern craft with Far Eastern sensibility. This fusion of traditional style elements designed with a minimalist approach and modern materials has become her trademark. Her style stems from her exposure to diverse cultures and experiences, from a childhood in Japan, to design school in America, and her first professional foray in the UK. Her journey came full circle when after an absence of 40 years, she returned to Lebanon and launched her company ‘East and East’ in the year 2000.
Geometry is an important tool for Nada Debs, representing complex philosophies with intricate, simple beauty. She uses materials to tell tactile stories, sometimes in pure and surprising forms, and sometimes with intriguing combinations and juxtapositions.
