Baobab Collection candles are created using high quality raw materials sourced in Europe. The glass is crafted in Poland, the mineral wax comes from Germany, and the scents are created and perfected in Grasse. Each Baobab candle is hand-poured in multiple pouring phases into glass containers that have been hand-blown by master craftsmen, making each candle completely unique.

The Heritage collection of scented candles reflects Baobab’s commitment to preserving the exceptional craft of glass engraving, passed down through generations. The art, which is increasingly rare today, finds new life through this collection which honors the craftsmanship and enduring legacy of the artisans. To create each container in the Heritage collection, the stylized design is placed on the glass in a very modern way. Lines and intersection adorn an object where colored transparency and grooves come to life like jewels under the flames. The names of the three candles in this collection pay homage to the architecture of the great Cistercian abbeys, whose marvelous and inspiring architecture convey a telluric energy of breathtaking beauty.

Named for the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay, a former Cistercian monastery from the 12th century located in France, a few kilometers from Paris. The Cernay scented candle is hand-engraved by craftsmen in the Baobab workshop, using graphic lines in the great tradition of glass engraving. The glass is firsthand-painted with a deep red paint, while retaining its transparency. This transparency is essential to enable the craftsman to see through the lines he is about to engrave.

Berry, Jasmine, Tonka: The glass’s red color called for a floral olfactory identity with slightly sweet accents. Top notes of intense and enveloping berry invite us to take an imaginary stroll through the wild ruins of Cistercian abbeys. Then jasmine explodes in the heart note, fresh and lush, only to disappear delicately on a tonka bean base, leaving a warm, woody trail.

Product care:
* Burn within sight.

* When burning more than one candle at the same time, always ensure that at least 20 cm space is left between burning candles.
* Do not let candle burn for longer than one hour once the entire surface of the candle is liquid.
* Do not let the candle burn to the end.
* Do not leave a burning candle unattended or close to easily flammable objects.
* Do not place candles near a source of heat. Put candles on a heat resistant surface.
* To reduce sooting, trim the wick 0.6 cm each time the candle is to be relit.
* Avoid using in drafty areas. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
