Description
Baobab Collection candles are created using high quality raw materials sourced in Europe. The glass is crafted in Poland, the mineral wax comes from Germany, and the scents are created and perfected in Grasse. Each Baobab candle is hand-poured in multiple pouring phases into glass containers that have been hand-blown by master craftsmen, making each candle completely unique.
Journey to the heart of Africa and immerse yourself in the history of its sacred baobab trees. These giant trees, as majestic as they are imposing, are linked to mankind and African history.
The Sacred Trees collection of scented candles comes in 3 glass colors enhanced with a design of the baobab tree. Following the success of the Sacred Trees collections in previous seasons, Baobab has decided to make this collection a permanent edition with a revamped design and new colors on the glass of the scented candles. 5% of sales from this collection will be donated to the Cœur Vert foundation which is dedicated to the protection of the environment and focuses on reforestation. Recent editions of the Sacred Trees collection have aided a reforestation program in the north of the Ivory Coast, as well as the replanting of 30,000 trees and creating a vegetable garden to assist women in rural communities.
Touba is named for an area of Côte d’Ivoire in the Woroba district, paying tribute to the regions in which Baobab supports the Cœur Vert foundation and its ecological actions. The baobab design on the Touba candle was created by artists at the wax fabric printing company Uniwax and has been colored in shades of deep green and grey lilac. This figurative design reveals a lush baobab forest where flora and fauna flourish in harmony.
Verbena, Lavender, Cedarwood: A fragrance of verbena, lavender, and cedarwood is subtly diffused throughout the room. This citrusy composition is a tribute to the freshness found in the African savannah during the rainy season which also marks the time when baobab trees are planted by the Cœur Vert foundation.
About the Brand
Working with the tagline, “Where luxury home fragrance meets creative design,” Baobab Collection first saw the light of day in 2002, in the enchanting landscape of Tanzania, a country rich in intense colors and bewitching perfumes. The collections are inspired by faraway places and wild nature, but it is in Belgium that the new creations are dreamed up. The Baobab Collection finds unlimited inspirations through the wonders of the world. Each candle tells a new story: the name, the perfume, and the materials chosen are closely linked. The Belgian brand is committed to certain values including high-quality craftsmanship and respect for the environment. Like the baobab tree in the African savannah which inspired its name, each candle from Baobab makes an impression and stands out from the ordinary. Baobab Collection’s candles are known for their size and original designs. They are extraordinary objects providing an olfactory and aesthetic experience, crafted using materials that are carefully selected and sourced across Europe and created by the best European artisans.
