Description
Part of the Akun Essence of Life collection created in collaboration with RolzGold to bring together refined design and material craftsmanship. The pieces in this collection combine elegance with intention and are meant to be given, kept, and returned to over time.
The Sa’ada cup is inspired by the meaning of happiness. Intended to be used as a qahwa cup, this delicate vessel is imprinted with the word for happiness along the inner rim; a gentle reminder to enjoy the small moments of pleasure when they occur and live fully in joy as often as we can during daily life.
About the Brand
Akun began as an idea to create something meaningful, blending design and culture in a way that people could feel connected to. With her background in architecture and design, Amera Al Awadhi wanted to craft pieces that carried both beauty and emotion, something that would reflect the spirit of Arab hospitality.
Around that time, her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The idea of Akun suddenly became more than a creative pursuit. It became personal. Candle making turned into a shared ritual between them, a quiet space filled with scent, light and care. In those moments, Amera saw how something simple could bring comfort, presence and memory together.
From that experience, Akun found its purpose. It became a way to give meaning through creation and to keep the warmth of home alive in every piece.
