Designed by JORDANLUCA for Seletti, the Meltdown collection is inspired by two British institutions: raves and cups of tea.
The rave scene, emerging from the UK in the early 1990’s is known for its illegal parties, wild free festivals, and dance music.
Tea and the culture of teatime is another bastion of Britishness. Brits drink tea to celebrate, to mourn the dead and they drink tea to combat shock and to work through various neuroses and emotional meltdowns. There’s no end to the resources of tea for a British person.
Here, the Meltdown Teapot captures the feeling of having a meltdown in fine porcelain, allowing one to face their emotional state while attempting to work through it while making a calming cup of tea.
