Freddy was the kind of person who thinks they’re better than everyone else. He boasted about his muscles and his physical abilities. One day, his friend Carlos asked him if he wanted to play a game of padel together. “Okay, this should be easy”, said Freddy. They met at the club the next day.
Carlos started explaining the rules of the game. Freddy said that there was no need, that they should start already and stop wasting time on this rubbish. “Okay”, said Carlos, and he got into position and served first. Freddy wanted to show off his skills from his first hit. He smacked the ball so hard that it shot violently across the court, crashed into the wall at the end and bounced back even harder, straight at him. He didn’t duck quickly enough, and the ball struck him at full force in the center of his forehead.
After giving him mouth to mouth and chest compressions for five minutes, Carlos ask his friend if he felt all right. Freddy staggered to his feet and asked Carlos if he had noted down the numberplate of the lorry that had just hit him.
